We were given a task to design a community centre for Mai Semai tribe which is the largest tribe in the Semai group. The Mai Semai tribe dwells in rural area of Gopeng, Perak. Therefore, the Semai Community Centre ensures the indigenous people are able to practice the customs and cultures to prevent them from losing the touch of authenticity due to the modernization of the societies in the country. This community center is a place for the Semai people to achieve the self-actualization.

The Semai Community Center | should be designed to reflect the unique culture of Orang Asli Semai at Kampung Geruntum and other Orang Asli Village nearby without destroying the beautiful flora and fauna. The Semai community center must focus on the activities of Semai people. The design should blend, reflect and respect the surrounding culture of Semai people and nature.
